Purpose/Focus

The Local Workforce Development Board (LWDB’s) purpose is to provide policy guidance for, and exercise oversight with respect to activities under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) for the WDA in partnership with the Career Solutions Board. Subject to the agreement between the LWDB and the Career Solutions Board, it shall also be the responsibility of the LWDB to provide policy guidance for Title I, and to exercise oversight with respect to monitoring Title I activities in partnership with the Career Solutions Board.

Local Plan Review: LWDB #17

Regional Plan Review: Region 3 Leadership & Planning Board (R3LPB)

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) law requires that local and regional workforce plans be reviewed and updated at the two-year mark to remain in compliance with legislation. This notice announces the completion of that review and is available for public comment.

Career Solutions Workforce Development Board has completed its required two-year review of the Local Plan. In addition, the Region 3 Leadership and Planning Board (R3LPB) which provides services in Workforce Service Areas #5 & 17 have also updated the Regional Plan. These plans are to ensure continued compliance under the WIOA Law. You may view the updated plan document per the link below.

Public comment period will be held September 1 – September 30, 2026. Any comments or suggestions should be provided to the Career Solutions Executive Director (Tammy.Stark@csjobs.org or 320.266.5060). Submissions of the Local and Regional Plans will take place on October 1, 2026 and sent to the Governor’s Workforce Development Board (GWDB).
